Accountabilities:
As a Market Access Lead, you will develop, implement, and manage a broad set of access initiatives by:
Strategic Planning: Designing and leading market access strategies for private health insurance & NGOs payers and third-party funders, aligning with AstraZeneca’s broader business goals
Stakeholder Engagement: Building and maintaining relationships with private insurers, NGOs, funding bodies, and key opinion leaders to support patient access to AstraZeneca therapies
Contracting & Negotiation: Leading IVS agreements, pricing negotiations, and funding models with private payers, NGOs, and other innovative financing partners
Policy & Funding Landscape Analysis: Monitoring and analyzing trends, regulations, policy changes, and innovative funding opportunities in the private and NGO spaces to inform access strategy and identify risks or new opportunities
Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborating with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Corporate Affairs, Finance, and Patient Advocacy teams to deliver integrated access solutions and maximize the lifecycle value of AstraZeneca products
Submission of Value Dossier: Overseeing development of submissions and dossiers for coverage by private insurers and NGO programs, ensuring value demonstration and health economic outcomes are compelling and aligned with payer requirements
Innovative Value Solutions: Designing and implementing novel access and funding models (risk-sharing, pay-for-performance, outcome-based agreements, blended finance, etc.) to expand reach and sustainability of patient access initiatives
Program Implementation & Monitoring: Managing implementation of agreed access programs, tracking performance, ensuring compliance, and measuring patient impact and business outcomes.
External Representation: Representing AstraZeneca in public-private partnerships related to private health insurance and NGO funding
Training & Best Practice Sharing: Supporting knowledge transfer across the organization regarding private payer and innovative funding engagement strategies
Essential Skills/Experience:
7+ years of demonstrated experience in market access, health economics, & PHI
Proven track record leading access or funding strategies with public sectors, private health insurers, NGOs, or innovative finance entities
Strong knowledge of health systems, reimbursement models, and key private payer dynamics
Deep understanding of different health sectors, value story demonstration, and the principles of health technology assessment (HTA)
Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills with experience influencing external stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional initiatives
